Instead, they are required to fly at subsonic speeds until they reach designated areas where they can safely fly at supersonic speeds. For this reason, military jets are typically not allowed to fly at supersonic speeds over populated areas. The sound of a sonic boom can be startling and may cause damage to buildings and windows. The shockwave travels through the air as a cone-shaped wave and is heard as a loud boom when it reaches the ground. The sonic boom is caused by the compression of air molecules as they are forced together by the aircraft’s nose. Once the aircraft reaches supersonic speed, it creates a shockwave that can be heard on the ground as a loud sonic boom. As the aircraft gains speed, the pilot must carefully control the aircraft to prevent it from becoming unstable or going out of control. To break the sound barrier, a military jet must accelerate to supersonic speed, which is typically done by flying the aircraft at a high altitude and then diving towards the ground. These jets are designed to withstand the forces generated by supersonic flight and have advanced avionics systems that allow pilots to navigate and control the aircraft at high speeds. Military jets that can break the sound barrier include the F-15 Eagle, F-16 Fighting Falcon, F/A-18 Hornet, and F-22 Raptor. The ability to fly at supersonic speeds is crucial for military jets as it enables them to travel long distances quickly and reach their targets faster.

I like System Shock 1 way better personally, but i know i'm part of a minority. Shock 2 is more of a precursor to Bioshock in that regard since Spector had left the company at that time, and its director Ken Levine would go on to create the Bioshock series. Warren Spector, the director of Deus Ex, was at the helm. The first Shock is a direct precursor to Deus Ex and it shows. System Shock 2 is easier to approach and looks nicer overall, but it's also highly derivative of the original. Don't expect a modern shooter or something like Deus Ex Human Revolution. But it's clunky and feels somewhat budget. System Shock is the classic one the most influential games of all time. SS2 being much more approachable is what made me consider doing it first, but I'd like to try getting into SS1 if I can. I've had both of them for a few months now and haven't felt committed enough to playing them until now. Well, I got the GOG version and it came with the avatars and wallpapers and stuff, and I like the artwork and story stuff of System Shock even though I haven't played the games yet. Not to mention that the story of the sequel does work even if you don't know what happened in the first game. SS2 is an infinitely more approachable game and feel like it aged better, it's a lot easier to pick up and play as the interface is far more intuitive. I can't help but find weird that a person with a System Shock avatar is asking for tips on how to play System Shock.Īnyway, even with the enhanced version I couldn't get into SS1 at all, I feel like it's one of those games you needed to experience back in the time it came out to get the most out of it. The possibility of holding the event in an open air venue was discussed, however concerns over security led to the choice of an indoor venue for the event. Financial guarantees by the Israeli government however helped to ensure that the contest would take place in Israel. Additional concerns over funding for the event also contributed to speculation that the contest could be moved to Malta or the United Kingdom, the nations which had finished in the top three alongside Israel the previous year. The prospect of Israel staging the contest resulted in protest by members of the Orthodox Jewish community in the country, including opposition by the deputy mayor of Jerusalem Haim Miller to the contest being staged in the city. The selected venue was the Ussishkin Auditorium of the International Convention Centre, commonly known in Hebrew as Binyenei HaUma ( Hebrew: בנייני האומה), which also served as the host venue for Israel's previous staging of the event. It was the second time that Israel had staged the contest, following the 1979 contest also held in Jerusalem. The 1999 contest took place in Jerusalem, Israel, following the country's victory at the 1998 edition with the song " Diva", performed by Dana International. International Convention Centre, Jerusalem – host venue of the 1999 contest It was also the first ever contest to not feature an orchestra or live music accompanying the competing entries. It was the first contest since 1976 that countries were allowed to perform in the language of their choice, and not necessary the language of their country. Iceland, Germany, Croatia and Israel rounded out the top five, with Iceland achieving its best ever result and Croatia equalling its previous best. The winner was Sweden with the song " Take Me to Your Heaven", composed by Lars Diedricson, written by Gert Lengstrand and performed by Charlotte Nilsson. Meanwhile Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denmark and Iceland returned to the contest, having last participated in 1997, while Lithuania made its first contest appearance since 1994. Finland, Greece, Hungary, Macedonia, Romania, Slovakia and Switzerland, having participated in the 1998 contest, were absent due to being relegated after achieving the lowest average points totals over the past five contests or by actively choosing not to return. Twenty-three countries participated in the contest. The event was presented by singer Dafna Dekel, radio and television presenter Yigal Ravid and model and television presenter Sigal Shachmon. January has worked with the Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) at the Flint & Genesee Chamber, which assists businesses with securing government contracts and obtaining the necessary certifications to bid on such projects. The company has also expanded into Oakland and Saginaw counties, and plans to expand throughout all of Michigan in a few years, said January. “Today, I am still the only commercial shredding company based in Genesee County.”ĪJP has grown rapidly, servicing mostly businesses and families. “I figured it out, started AJP and we are able to provide that service to Genesee County,” she said. The trucks serving Flint & Genesee were coming in from Oakland and Saginaw counties, and even from Ohio, making it difficult to empty the packed bins more than every two weeks.Ī light bulb went off in her head and she began putting together a business plan for what would become AJP Commercial Shredding. That is when she discovered that Genesee County did not have a single locally based commercial shredding service. When January worked in insurance and finance around Genesee County, she noticed how often the shred bins at the office were often filled beyond capacity and not being emptied in a timely fashion. “If someone passes away who was a CPA, or while selling a family business, there is a world of documentation that needs to be taken care of properly. “You name it, everyone needs shredding services, from attorneys, doctors and banks, to families,” said April January, owner of AJP Commercial Shredding in Flint. There are strict rules on handling client paperwork, and before AJP Commercial Shredding opened its doors, it was much more difficult for Genesee County businesses to find access to shredding services. Loan documents, W-2s, medical records, credit card bills – many identity-theft experts recommend that anything with personal information on it should be shredded rather than just thrown away.Ĭompanies have an even bigger stake in shredding private and confidential information to remain compliant with various federal and state laws and regulations regarding documentation. Have a safe place – preferably, one that only you can access – prepared ahead of time with which to store your recorded calls.Įven if everyone consents to the call being recorded, some people may still worry about who will be able to listen to it back. Pay special attention to mechanical whirring and electrical humming they can generate more noise in a recording than you might expect! 3. Both sets of noise together can make it a challenge to make sense of a recorded call, so do your part to mitigate this problem by picking a place to record the call where there isn’t much going on in the background. When you’re recording a phone call, you’re going to have to account for the background noise on both the other end(s) of the call as well as your own side. Find a quiet place to record the call where there won’t be much background noise. If even a single person doesn’t give their approval, stop the recording immediately. That way, you have on record their verbal consent to being recorded. So, after you start recording, politely notify the other caller(s) that you want to record the call, and ask them if they mind you doing so. In fact, recording a phone call without the consent of the other party (or parties) involved is considered a criminal offence in some regions. Recording a phone call raises privacy issues, as some people may not be entirely comfortable with you making a record of what they might reasonably expect to be a private conversation. Always make sure the other caller(s) are okay with you recording the call beforehand. Things to consider before recording a phone call 1. Fortunately, if you have an Android smartphone, there are a number of ways you can go about making one! This lesson will teach you 4 methods for recording a phone call to or from your Android phone. This is even more important if you’re trying to fix a problem through a customer service department.Įven if you’re just trying to remember directions to a friend’s house or meeting place out-of-town, having a record of what was said during a phone call would be a handy reference tool. One of the biggest pitfalls with phone calls is that if you and the other person (or people) have a lot to talk about, the call can drag on to the point where it’s difficult to remember exactly what was said at any one moment! This is particularly a problem if you’re calling a business to iron out a transaction, where you might need to remember some specific detail about someone you need to call next, or some paperwork that you need to fill out (online or otherwise) and send in. Quote from wideload »The short answer to your question is - no. If enough of the community agrees with you that it shouldn't be on the front page then it'll eventually die off. Should we ban resource packs that use any photoshop filter because they didn't do it by hand? Or what of mods that didn't use MCreator but still add overpowered items from easy to find ore? I don't think we should limit the community on how they create content, and if their content isn't important to you, simply don't post on the thread. My personal opinion on it is this: We all have things we like and dislike when it comes to content posted to these forums. The feedback I remember over content packs made via other mods/programs or for use in a specific mod was it was it wasn't popular enough to warrant it's own subforum (as that would basically be a death warrant for all threads made in there due to lack of activity) but most people that provided any feedback wanted the right to be able to post their custom content even if it was created with the help of a program that did the coding for them. I would also like to note that this isn't the first time this type of thing came up. The community should be free to make mods and anything using whatever tools they are happy to use, yes we may get some bad ones, but thats how people learn to be better They maybe using mcreator to get a basic understanding of how modding works and then from there learning java and how to mod fully by hand, if we turn around and say no mcreator they may never go further which would hurt the community.Īlso if we consider banning mcreator mods because as you say they are crappy, why not ban maps that are crappy in your eyes, or crappy skins and resource packs? Yes they maybe lower quality than ones made by others, but they are still someones creation, banning mcreator mods would just be a slap in the face to that person. Quote from webrosc »Why should we ban one type of mod over others? My Proposal: People can report program-generated content they think is crappy, and a moderator then decides if the content is of enough quality to be on MCF(and also look if the content is program-generated(visible by looking at the package names)) tl dr There are lots of crappy MCreator mods Over on PMC, they have a rule "no content generated by programs"(not the best way to say it, as that would deny autocomplete as well ). I'm not saying MCreator mods are bad in general, but that there are lots of crappy ones. That in turn makes it hard to find good mods, mods that do things never seen before (or just doing nice things diffrent then something else). That results in alot of uncreative "super-common-ore->ingot/gem/whatever->super-overpowered-weapon" mods. That isnt bad by nature(except the code beig output being quite poor quality, using deprecated/wrong/bad ways of doing things), rather the lots of n00bs that can use it. I see this quite often in here, the flood of crappy MCreator mods.įor those not familiar with it, MCeator is a graphical program where every damn n00b can make his own (super bugged) mod, without typing a single line of java(or anything else). |
